Will the Second Round of Tehran–Washington Talks in Islamabad Yield Any Results?

Despite reports that a new round of Iran–U.S. talks is set to begin next Monday in Islamabad, debate and controversy have once again intensified—particularly on X (formerly Twitter). Analysis and commentary on the negotiations have resurfaced, accompanied by renewed statements from U.S. President Donald Trump directed at Tehran, combining both optimism and pressure. He has suggested that if Iran is genuinely willing to reach an agreement, it could happen “very soon.”
On the other hand, statements from Iran’s Parliament Speaker and its Foreign Minister diverge significantly in tone and substance when addressing the United States. This reflects deep internal divisions within the Iranian leadership regarding how to deal with Washington. The lack of coherence in Iran’s political and diplomatic messaging is evident: while one side emphasizes halting the conflict in Lebanon, another demands tens of billions of dollars in compensation. Such positions are unlikely to be acceptable to the United States and further complicate the prospect of reaching a unified Iranian stance—making an agreement even more difficult.
The agenda of the talks goes far beyond bilateral issues such as uranium enrichment, nuclear risks, and the Strait of Hormuz. It also encompasses a range of regional files, including Israel, Lebanon, Iraq, the presence of U.S. forces in the Gulf, and the security of Gulf states. These interconnected issues represent significant and complex obstacles, making it even harder for Washington to accommodate Tehran’s demands.
In a recent message, President Trump raised expectations for a deal, claiming that Iran has agreed to “almost all” U.S. demands and has accepted the dismantling of its nuclear weapons capabilities. He also pointed to a potential easing of tensions. However, in another statement, he coupled this optimism with implicit threats, emphasizing that the U.S. naval blockade against Iran would continue “with full force” until a final agreement is implemented.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, responded sharply, rejecting Trump’s claims as “false” and warning that if the naval blockade persists, the Strait of Hormuz could be closed, placing its control under Iran’s decision.
Conclusion:
Amid this exchange of messages, Pakistan continues to play a key mediating role. Its importance is further underscored by the recent 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. Nevertheless, given the numerous political, economic, and diplomatic complexities, there is still no clear indication that the second round of talks will produce tangible results. At best, the outcome may remain uncertain—or, as some observers suggest, the current ceasefire could simply be extended for another 60 days.

دیسانەوە لەو بوارەوە شەڕە ئێکس (تویتەر) دەستی پێکردووەتەوە. باس و شیکارییەکان لە سەر گفتوگۆکان لە نێوان ئێران و ئەمەریکا دووبارە هاتووتە پێشەوە، دیسانەوە وتە تازەکانی بەڕێز دۆناڵد ترەمپ سەرۆکی ئەمەریکا، ڕوو بە تاران، بە ئەرێنی و نەڕێنی دەستی پێکردووەتەوە. لەوەی کە بە بەرپرسانی ئێرانی دەڵێت ئەگەر نیەتی ڕێککەوتنتان هەیە، دەکرێت “بە زووی” ئەو ڕێکەوتنە ڕووبدات.
لە لایەکی دیکەشەوە قسەو باسەکانی سەرۆکی پەرلەمانی ئێرا، لە گەڵ وەزیری دەرەوەی ئێران ڕوو بە ئەمریکا، زۆر لە یەک جیوازاترن. ئەوەش دەیسەلمێنێت، کە ناکۆکیەکی زۆر لە نێو بەرپرسە پاشماوەکانی ڕێژیمی ئێران ڕوو بە ئەمریکا هەیە. شپرزەییەکی زۆر زیاتر لە سیاسەت و دێپڵۆماسیەتی ئێران دەردەکەوێت. یەکێک باس تەنیا لە ڕاگرتنی شەڕ لە لوبنان دەکات، یەکێک داوای قەرەبووکردنەوەی دەیان ملیارد دولار دەکات. ئەم قسانەش بۆ ئەمریکا جێگەی ڕەزامەندی نییە. بەم شپرزەییەش ئێران یەک بڕیار نابێت و ڕێکەوتنیش لە گەڵ ئەمریکا دژاورتر دەبێت.
قسەو باسەکانی سەر مێزی کۆبوونەوە یا گووفتووگۆی ئەو ٢ وڵاتەم بێجگە لە باسەکانی ناوخۆیی وەک تواندنەوەی ئۆرانیوم و مەترسی چەکی ئەتۆمی و تەنگەی هورموز. کۆمەڵێک فایلی دیکە لە خۆ دەگرێت کە جیاوازە لە سنووری جۆغرافای سیاسی و ئابووری هەردوو ٢ لایەن. وەک فایلی ئسیرائیل لوبنان، ئێراق، بوونی هێزەکانی ئەمریکا وڵاتانی کەنداوی عەرەبی و پاراستنی ئاسایشی ئەو وڵاتانە. ئەمانەش کۆمەڵێک ئاستەنگی زۆر قورسن کە ڕووبەڕووی یەکتر دەکرێنەوە. کە زیاتر بۆ ئەمریکا ئاسان نابێت ئەم جۆرە داواکارییانە لە ئێرانیەکان قبووڵ بکات.
لە پەیامێکی نوێدا بەڕێز دۆناڵد ترەمپ ئاستی هیوای ڕێکەوتنی بەرز کردەوە و وتی ئێران “نزیکەی هەموو داواکانی ئێمەی پەسەند کردووە”، و قبوڵی کردووە چەکی ناوەکی نامێنێت. هەروەها ئاماژەی دا بە ئاسانبوونەوەی دۆخەکە.. بەڵام لە پەیامێکی دیکەشیدا، بە هێمای هەڕەشەو فشارەوە ڕاگەیاند ئەوەی کە گەمارۆی دەریایی ئەمەریکا لەسەر ئێران بە “هێزی تەواو” بەردەوام دەبێت تا کاتێک ڕێککەوتنی کۆتایی جێبەجێ دەبێت.
لە لایەکی دیکەشەوە، سەرۆکی پەرلەمان مەحەمەد باقر قالیباف بە تووندی وەڵامی ترەمپ ی دایەوە، و قسەکانی ڕەتکردەوە و بە “درۆ” ناوبرد، و ئاگاداری دا کە ئەگەر گەمارۆی دەریایی بەردەوام بێت، تەنگەی هورمز کراوە نابێت و بەڕێوەبردنی دەکەوێتە دەستی بڕیاری ئێران.
ئاکام: لە ئاکامی ئەم شەڕە پەیامانەدا.سەرەڕای ئەوەی کە پاکستان وەک ناوژیوانێکی گرنگ بەردەوامە.، خاڵێکی دیکەش کە گرنگی بەم ڕۆڵەی پاکستان زیاتردا، ئەویش وەستانی١٠ڕۆژەی شەڕ لە نێوان ئیسرائیل و لوبنان. بەڵام بە هۆی ئەو هەموو ئاڵۆزییە سیاسییە، ئابوورییە، دێپلؤماسییە. هێشتا هیچ دڵنیابوونێک نییە لەوەی کە بگووترێت قۆناغی دووەمی گفتووگۆ هێچ ئەنجامێکی دەبێت، یا دیسانەوە بە ناڕوونی دەمێنێتەوە. یا بە بۆچوونی هیندێک چاودێر لەوانەیە ئاگربەستەکە درێژ بکرێتەوە بۆ ٦٠ رۆژی دیکە.
